MoU with German BvB researchers and K-BvB R&D funding secured
Hello from the Korean Youth Educational Development Institute (KYEDI).
To advance the research into Germany's BvB (Berufsvorbereitende Bildungsmaßnahmen) model that we have pursued since 2022 into a full international joint R&D stage, KYEDI has signed a memorandum of understanding with German BvB researchers and affiliated research institutions.
The agreement covers joint research into Germany's career preparation and career development education system, and — principally — the domestic validation and development of a K-BvB (Korean Berufsvorbereitende Bildungsmaßnahmen) program suited to Korea's educational environment.
KYEDI has been analysing the educational principles and operating structure of the German BvB model and assessing its applicability to career indecision and aptitude mismatch among Korean youth.
Through this agreement, both parties will share BvB's core educational principles and research materials, and build a joint K-BvB R&D structure to reconstruct them for Korea's education and youth-support environment.
Scope of cooperation
- Joint research on the BvB career development model and curriculum
- Development of a Korean K-BvB program model
- Domestic validation of K-BvB with young participants, and test-bed operation
- Validation of program effectiveness and educational outcomes
- Mutual sharing of research materials and educational methods
- Program improvement for application in Korean youth education settings
- Assessment of K-BvB's potential for domestic dissemination
KYEDI has also secured R&D funding to support the domestic validation and development of K-BvB on a stable footing.
The funding will go towards designing the Korean K-BvB curriculum, running research and validation, analysing participant data, verifying effectiveness, and refining the program.
Working from the empirical data accumulated during development, we aim to review the program's effectiveness objectively and develop it into a standardised educational model for youth career education and self-design education.
This international collaboration follows on from the 2022 workshop on joint R&D planning and the Korean test-bed, and marks an important starting point for KYEDI's international research cooperation and domestic validation research.
