Published: ‘2025 Survey of Korean Youth Workforce Adaptation and Metacognitive Competency’
KYEDI has published the ‘2025 Survey of Korean Youth Workforce Adaptation and Metacognitive Competency’, an analysis of workforce adaptation and early attrition among young people in Korea grounded in empirical data.
The study examines the main factors behind early attrition, and in particular analyses how aptitude mismatch and metacognitive competency affect workforce adaptation and career perception.
Contents
- Analysis of workforce adaptation and early attrition among young people in Korea
- Analysis of career and job perceptions among young people experiencing aptitude mismatch
- Quantitative analysis of change in retention intent and job satisfaction before and after K-BvB
- Review of the potential of metacognition-based career education for workforce adaptation
- Educational implications for future support of youth careers and workforce adaptation
The report includes quantitative material comparing retention intent and satisfaction before and after the program, based on data from the 2024 K-BvB pilot participants.
This allowed us to examine empirically how career design education grounded in self-understanding and metacognition can affect workforce adaptation — rather than treating early attrition as a matter of individual aptitude or insufficient will.
