K-BvB royalty-free transition complete for domestic use
With the joint research and development of K-BvB and the domestic validation research pursued since 2022 now successfully complete, KYEDI is pleased to announce that the royalty-free transfer of the K-BvB program and the SDI diagnostic system for domestic use has been finalised.
K-BvB is a youth metacognition and career design educational model developed from the German BvB model for the educational and career environment of young people in Korea.
Working with research and partner institutions, KYEDI developed the Korean K-BvB curriculum and examined its field applicability and educational effect through the 2024 pilot and the large-scale validation of 2025.
Through this transfer, education and youth-support organisations in Korea can now use K-BvB materials and systems without any separate licence fee. Moving to a royalty-free arrangement rather than commercial purchase establishes a basis for using K-BvB across universities, municipal youth centres, lifelong learning institutions, and other settings.
Who it is for
- Universities nationwide and university career and employment support bodies
- Municipal youth centres and youth support organisations
- Lifelong learning institutions
- Public and non-profit organisations working in youth careers and education
What is provided free of charge
- K-BvB mentoring manual — a practical manual setting out K-BvB's core educational principles and metacognition-based mentoring methods
- SDI diagnostic platform — a system for examining young people's strengths, thinking patterns, and career perceptions, for use in self-understanding and career design
- K-BvB guidebook — an operating guide covering the program's structure, curriculum, and use, written for staff at partner institutions
KYEDI will continue to work with the institutions using K-BvB, accumulating cases of field application and improving both the curriculum and the SDI diagnostic system. Drawing on each institution's experience and the views from the field, we will widen K-BvB's scope and develop it into an open model of youth education supporting self-understanding and career design.
We ask for the interest and participation of youth education practitioners across Korea, so that what four years of research and validation have produced can now reach more institutions and more young people.
